Meanwhile I've been keeping an eye on a couple of Willy Wagtails that built a nest just outside our kitchen window. A short while ago we saw the first little heads peering above the edge of the nest and just two weeks later they have left the nest. Its really been great watching them grow so rapidly. Each day you could see changes. Not long after they hatched they almost got consumed by a brown snake which was only a couple of metres away. The parents were making a racket which attracted my attention. Fortunately turning the hose on the snake drove it away. As it is I've seen two of the chicks sitting in the ferns near their nest this morning so all is well with the family (with possible exception of one).
Meanwhile it is clearly too late to place orders to arrive before Christmas. If you can drop into the shop we'll be open the following days over Christmas - Sat 21, Sun 22, Mon 23, Thu 26, Fri 27, Sat 28, Sun 29. We will also be at Pfeiffers Markets on the 28th December so if you are in the region and we haven't met, please drop by and say hello.
